Description
We are seeking an Assistant Sommelier to join our team on board. As an Assistant Sommelier, you will be responsible for beverage and wine service and sales in the dining outlets. You will play an integral part in assisting with the smooth operation and taking ownership of your outlet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure guest satisfaction and follow service procedures at all times.
- Promote and maximize beverage sales.
- Supervise wine service in the dining outlets according to the daily schedule.
- Work with the Sommelier to promote wine sales and support the Seabourn Vintage program.
- Manage beverage stocks, ensuring they are used, stored, and accounted for according to company policies.
- Provide prompt, attentive, and courteous service to every guest.
- Maintain an attentive and proactive approach to offering second rounds and ascertaining satisfaction with the product served.
- Be knowledgeable about all complimentary products being offered to guests.
- Handle checks and sales transactions correctly and properly.
- Help achieve the yearly goal for bar scores in guest comment cards.
- Ensure drinks are served according to Seabourn recipes, standards, and measurements.
- Strive to up-sell to better quality premium and super-premium products.
- Follow the Seabourn Name Recognition program and write tests accordingly.
Public Health:
- Perform cleaning duties as assigned.
- Report any deficiencies in designated areas of responsibility.
- Control and manage areas of responsibility according to SMS 2008 USPH/CAPH/UKPH, ISO 14001, NLV Seabourn, and International Regulations.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree.
- Good wine knowledge from the old and new world.
- Practical knowledge of beverage operations and service.
- Knowledge of USPH and other international Public Health rules and regulations.
