Manager, Engineering (Power Generation & Utilities) - Memphis

SpaceXAI is seeking a Manager of Engineering to lead automation, controls, and electrical systems at its power generation facility in Southaven. The facility is critical infrastructure for SpaceX's AI supercomputers, requiring high-reliability power and utilities.

As a Manager, you will own the design, build-out, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automation, controls, and electrical systems. You will lead a team of engineers in a high-reliability, fast-paced environment, reviewing P&IDs, challenging control philosophies, and diving into DCS/PLC architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Own automation, controls, and electrical scope for power generation assets and plant electrical systems
• Lead controls scope for mechanical and electrical balance-of-plant and supporting utilities
• Build, mentor, and manage a team of automation and controls engineers and technicians
• Review and approve control philosophy documents, I/O lists, and control narratives
• Interface with internal engineering, construction, OEMs, and contractors
• Own field commissioning for automation, controls, and electrical systems

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in automation and controls engineering
• 3+ years of experience directly managing or leading a team of engineers

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

• Hands-on experience with DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms
• Direct experience with gas turbine or combined-cycle plant controls
• Working knowledge of utility-scale and low-voltage electrical power systems
• Experience designing or reviewing industrial control panels and electrical schematics

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to perform hands-on work in various environments
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Must be able to work on-site at the Southaven power generation facility
