Description

You will be joining Synopsys, the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. As a Staff Application Engineer – Physical Implementation, you will be part of the Application Engineering team in Bangalore, working directly with industry pioneers and innovators.

The role involves solving complex PPA (Performance, Power, Area) challenges using Synopsys' latest implementation technologies, including AI/ML Implementation, Physical Synthesis RTL-GDS. You will also be responsible for solving complex Formal verification challenges, early power estimation using latest technologies, benchmarking Synopsys solutions against competitors, and developing, debugging, and optimizing Synthesis implementation methodologies and flows for emerging semiconductor technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Solving complex PPA challenges using Synopsys' latest implementation technologies
  • Solving complex Formal verification challenges, early power estimation using latest technologies
  • Benchmarking Synopsys solutions against competitors to displace alternative implementation flows and demonstrates superior results
  • Developing, debugging, and optimizing Synthesis implementation methodologies and flows for emerging semiconductor technologies
  • Providing technical solutions by identifying design and EDA tool issues and delivering actionable resolutions for customers
  • Translating technical findings into requirements for R&D, driving tool enhancements and adaptive long-term solutions
  • Deploying new technology features in the latest EDA tool versions and enabling customer migration for best-in-class PPA
  • Proactively identifying customer pain points and proposing innovative solutions to address them
  • Collaborating closely with Synopsys R&D and product development teams to shape future technology directions
  • Acting as a customer advocate during internal discussions and as a brand ambassador when engaging externally

Requirements:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in Synthesis, with proven ability to debug and resolve synthesis challenges, including low power understanding
  • Strong exposure to methodology changes aimed at achieving targeted PPA metrics for complex designs
  • Proficiency in synthesis and formal verification tools and flows is highly advantageous
  • Advanced scripting skills (TCL, Unix, Perl) for automation and debugging
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interface effectively with customers and internal teams
