Supply Chain Buyer – Cockpit

Ford Motor Company is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supply Chain Buyer – Cockpit to support sourcing efforts for a Cockpit commodity. The successful candidate will contribute to sourcing strategy development, program sourcing activities, material cost reduction, risk and resilience management, supplier relationship management, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of comprehensive purchasing strategies for a Cockpit Commodity, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and financial targets.
• Lead sourcing activities for future vehicle programs, partnering with Product Development early in the design phase to identify capable suppliers, assess make-vs-buy and technology readiness, and help build competitive, resilient sourcing strategies that position Ford for successful launches.
• Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key strategic suppliers, driving performance, innovation, and long-term partnerships.
• Proactively identify and help mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply and supporting resilient supplier networks.
• Serve as an interface to Engineering as well as various internal skill teams, including Product Development, Cost Estimating, Finance, and MP&L, ensuring purchasing strategies support their objectives.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, technological advancements, and evolving regulations to inform sourcing decisions.
• Support the team in developing strategies that deliver cost-effective, efficient, sustainable solutions.
• Drive Purchasing discipline, leaning into dashboards, AI Technology, digital transformation, and Purchasing Policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Procurement or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
• Strong business acumen, collaboration, and communication skills – demonstrated ability to successfully work within cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills - understanding of cost drivers and cost modeling.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
