High School Humanities Teacher

High Tech High Point Loma seeks a High School Humanities Teacher to join the teaching team. As a Humanities teacher, you will integrate English and History to foster a deeper understanding of content in a purposeful learning environment.

Teachers at High Tech High strive to design learning experiences that reflect the school's design principles of equity, personalization, authentic work, and collaborative design. You will be responsible for designing and facilitating meaningful project work, creating and maintaining learning environments, and guiding students to achieve their academic potential.

Responsibilities:

• Embody High Tech High's design principles in all work activities and actions
• Create daily lesson plans with project-based assignments that are engaging and educational
• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
• Incorporate goals, competencies, and objectives into lesson plans that directly apply to students' lives
• Achieve school and course-wide performance goals for every student in class
• Grade assignments and homework regularly to keep students updated on their progress
• Identify students who are struggling and find them the resources they need

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential or out-of-state teaching license
