Physical Therapist - Pediatrics: O/P Acute Therapy

We are seeking a part-time Physical Therapist to join our Pediatrics: O/P Acute Therapy team at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

The successful candidate will interpret physician referrals, complete evaluations, establish plans of care, and implement individual treatments.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret physician referrals and complete musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary evaluations
• Establish plans of care and implement individual treatments based on evaluation results and functional goals
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as needed
• Identify factors affecting patient comfort and attend to these needs
• Plan for and complete patient discharge, including providing written home programs and patient/family teaching
• Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve optimum care
• Complete required documentation and maintain productivity standards
• Participate in performance improvement activities and pursue professional growth

Requirements:

• Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Previous pediatric outpatient experience
• Intermediate computer skills and excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills

Physical demands:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday
• Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead, and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height
• Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
