Description
WSP's Energy business is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Ireland, focusing on electricity transmission and distribution projects. The successful candidate will work on delivering power transmission infrastructure to achieve Net Zero in the Energy System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance on protection and control engineering
- Deliver projects at various stages, including feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed design
- Prepare electrical deliverables such as single line diagrams, cable calculations, and plant layouts
- Develop proposals and bids for the EC&I discipline
- Conduct owner's engineer/client-side design reviews
- Identify and mitigate health and safety risks in designs
- Lead and participate in technical meetings and design reviews
- Support project delivery through design reviews and site inspections
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of drawings, specifications, and design deliverables
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with significant postgraduate experience
- Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng
- Experience in electrical design, operation, maintenance, and testing
- Knowledge of power and energy projects, national and international codes and standards
- Familiarity with electrical CAD design software packages
- Experience working with clients and contractors
- Ability to travel as projects dictate
- Understanding of H&S requirements and ability to undertake the role of 'Designer'
