We are seeking a Senior Native iOS Engineer to join our mobile engineering team at Barclays. You will help shape and enhance the mobile experiences used by millions of customers across the bank.
As a Senior Native iOS Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of secure, scalable, and accessible iOS applications that support key customer journeys and business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve software using various engineering methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and devise solution strategies
- Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations
- Adhere to secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing practices

- Lead a team performing complex tasks and set objectives for team members
- Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions
- Demonstrate leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive
- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies and procedures
Requirements
- Extensive experience developing native iOS applications using Swift
- Knowledge of modern engineering approaches, including MVVM architecture and protocol-oriented design
- Experience working within modular, feature-based architectures
- Understanding of mobile application security requirements within regulated environments
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and coordinating multiple build configurations
- Knowledge of application performance monitoring and analytics instrumentation
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary agile teams
