Description
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to build, automate, and run the platform that manages over 50,000 devices across multiple countries. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying endpoint configurations, managing the provisioning experience, and ensuring the operational health of the endpoint platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, test, and deploy endpoint configurations across the estate, including Intune configuration and compliance policies, Autopilot and enrollment profiles, and Windows Update rings.
- Build and maintain the provisioning experience, including zero-touch deployment and out-of-box experiences.
- Package, test, and deploy applications at scale, including Win32 and MSIX packaging.
- Implement and maintain endpoint security controls, such as disk encryption and key escrow.
- Investigate and resolve complex incidents and problems, and drive permanent root-cause elimination.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for major incidents affecting the device estate.
- Manage the continuous change stream from vendors, including Windows and macOS feature updates.
- Maintain patch, OS currency, and vulnerability remediation to target.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in IT engineering or endpoint operations, including 3+ years working hands-on with an enterprise MDM/UEM platform.
- Experience engineering or supporting an estate of 5,000+ devices.
- Demonstrable hands-on capability in Windows endpoint management via Intune and at least one mobile platform.
- Practical experience packaging and deploying applications at scale.
- Working PowerShell proficiency with real examples of automation delivered into production.
- Familiarity with Git and pull-request-based working.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
- Specialized and frontline devices, such as rugged handhelds or lab instrument workstations.
- Migration and transformation delivery, such as SCCM to Intune.
- Virtual desktop and cloud PC, such as Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Endpoint security engineering, such as Defender for Endpoint.
