6th Grade Teacher

ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly qualified 6th Grade Teacher at Columbus Arts & Technology Academy in Columbus, Ohio. The teacher will provide a superior education for all students, creating a positive classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction
• Manage student behavior in the classroom
• Create a positive classroom environment
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
• Communicate with families regarding student growth
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice
• Participate in non-instructional activities as needed
• Collaborate with colleagues

Requirements:

• Active Ohio teaching license in the relevant content area
• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage confidential information
• Ability to supervise students in various settings
• Pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience working in an urban environment
