Weld Technician 2nd Shift

We are seeking a skilled Weld Technician to join our team at Multimatic Butler, a leading supplier of engineered components and systems to the automotive industry.

As a Weld Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You will be responsible for performing assignments requiring judgment and problem-solving skills relating to robotic mig-welding processes. This includes assisting with set up and change overs, teaching robots points for optimum mig weld robustness, adjusting weld fixtures, and developing preventative maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Adopt a specific group of cells and focus on all aspects of welding robustness for the assigned area.
• Teach robots points for optimum mig weld robustness.
• Adjust weld fixtures to control end product dimensions and mig weld gap/robustness.
• Develop preventative maintenance procedures related to weld fixtures and weld guns.
• Improve process robustness, uptime and cycle time by researching and improving weld consumables.
• Maintain shim adjustment logs for assigned area.
• Document and improve welding parameters.
• Provide input in evaluation of equipment and processes.
• Understand incoming part quality and its effect on mig weld/dimensional robustness.
• Perform other functions as required.
