AI Tutor - Design Specialist

SpaceXAI is seeking a skilled AI Design Specialist to enhance its models by providing high-quality data annotations and inputs tailored to design contexts.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in fields such as graphic design, brand and visual design, product or UI/UX design, web design, game design, and illustration to support the training of Grok.

You will evaluate, refine, and create design work so Grok can distinguish weak design from work that is clear, functional, and well-resolved.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate design outputs across formats, including visual assets, layouts, documents, websites, interactive prototypes, and games.
• Distinguish weak design from work that is clear, functional, and well-resolved.
• Refine, restyle, or recreate outputs when they fall short.
• Write precise annotations and critiques advising on design quality.
• Help label high-quality datasets spanning graphic design, interface design, web experiences, and related design writing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on evaluation tasks and examples.

Basic Qualifications:

• Demonstrated design excellence in at least one professional discipline.
• A portfolio showcasing strong taste and finished work.
• Sharp eye for visual hierarchy, typography, spacing, colour, composition, and clarity.
• Ability to evaluate design quality and communicate effectively.
• Fluency in English with excellent written communication.
• High attention to detail and comfort working from evolving instructions.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Strength across multiple design domains.
• Experience shipping or reviewing websites, product interfaces, or games.
• Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design principles.
• Working knowledge of modern design tools such as Figma or Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Experience with generative AI design tools.

Location and Other Expectations:

• Remote work available worldwide.
• Flexible hours and no fixed commitments for contractors.

Compensation and Benefits:

• US-based candidates: $35/hour - $75/hour.
