Description

The Product Marketing Lead, Consumer Subscriptions, will lead the product marketing strategy for ChatGPT's consumer subscription portfolio, including Go, Plus, and Pro.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead consumer subscription product marketing across ChatGPT's paid plans, including Go, Plus, and Pro.
  • Partner with Product, Pricing, and Growth to define each plan's audience, positioning, value proposition, and priority use cases.
  • Identify monetization opportunities across the product launch portfolio, and own integrated campaigns that turn new feature releases into clear reasons to adopt a paid plan or upgrade.
  • Translate customer, competitive, market, and behavioral insights into evidence-backed recommendations for pricing, packaging, and product decisions.
  • Lead the product marketing strategy and customer story for pricing and plan pages across both ChatGPT.com and OpenAI.com.
  • Coordinate pricing and plan changes tied to product launches with Product, Pricing, Growth, User Operations, Web, Design, Research, Data, and other product marketers.
  • Develop launch and adoption strategies that make each plan's value clear and help customers understand relevant product changes.
  • Own the marketing journey from awareness through understanding, consideration, and trial, giving customers clear reasons to upgrade.
  • Partner with Growth and lifecycle teams to develop promotions and customer education that reinforce each plan's value.
  • Shape international go-to-market strategies and adapt plan positioning, messaging, and customer education for global markets.
  • Build scalable portfolio frameworks for messaging, launches, and customer-facing plan education.

Requirements:

  • Have led product marketing for consumer subscriptions and have been accountable for quarterly growth and monetization targets, including paid adoption and free-to-paid conversion.
  • Bring sound judgment on monetization, pricing, and packaging, and know how to collaborate with Product, Pricing, and Growth on decisions that balance customer value and business needs.
  • Can turn customer research, market signals, competitive analysis, and behavioral data into actionable positioning and product recommendations.
  • Have built compelling premium positioning and value propositions that clearly communicate why distinct paid plans matter to customers.
  • Can lead complex launches and coordinated plan changes across multiple partners, workstreams, and customer-facing surfaces.
  • Have partnered effectively with Growth and lifecycle teams on adoption strategies, promotions, and customer education across the marketing journey.
  • Bring experience shaping go-to-market strategies for global markets and adapting messaging to relevant customer needs.
  • Can communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, explain tradeoffs using evidence, and build alignment without formal authority.
  • Are comfortable independently prioritizing ambiguous work, making sound tradeoffs, and developing scalable frameworks for messaging, launches, and plan education.
  • Bring rigorous editorial craft, an ability to translate technical and research complexity into accessible customer stories, and a commitment to mentoring peers.

Compensation:

  • $284K – $315K • Offers Equity
