Full Stack Engineer - VP

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer - VP to spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

Purpose of the role To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Accountabilities

• Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organisational objectives.
• Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritisation to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
• Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimise team productivity.
• Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
• Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in Java (JDK 17+), Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and building highly scalable, secure backend systems for financial and enterprise applications.
• Strong expertise in RESTful API design and development, microservices architecture, and service-to-service integrations in high-volume transactional environments.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and workflow management platforms, including designing and implementing long-running business processes, stateful workflows, and automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms, including Apache Kafka and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Strong experience with enterprise integration frameworks such as Apache Camel (or equivalent), implementing routing, mediation, transformation, orchestration, and API integration patterns across distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end full-stack development, including frontend-backend integration and asynchronous communication patterns.
• Hands-on experience with modern UI technologies including React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, responsive web design, and frontend testing frameworks such as Jest or Jasmine.
• Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases, with strong focus on data integrity and performance.
• Strong knowledge of security standards and practices including OAuth2, JWT, authentication, authorisation, encryption, and secure coding guidelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, build tools (Maven, Gradle), and secure deployments.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and enterprise development workflows.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, system resiliency, fault tolerance, observability, and production support in mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading technical design discussions, conducting code reviews, and mentoring engineers in large delivery teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing and integrating solutions on Hyperledger Besu or other enterprise blockchain platforms.
• Strong understanding of blockchain network architecture, node operations, transaction lifecycle, consensus mechanisms, and enterprise DLT deployments.
• Practical experience developing, integrating, testing, and supporting Smart Contracts and blockchain-enabled business workflows.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications with blockchain networks through APIs, events, message-driven architectures, and middleware platforms.
• Strong experience working in regulated environments with strict compliance, audit, and governance requirements.
• Deep understanding of system resiliency, fault tolerance, high availability, and performance optimisation.
