Description
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology.
The role is a manufacturing test engineering position focused on full-vehicle testing for the Dive-XL autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).
Responsibilities
- Run full-vehicle dry factory acceptance testing (FAT) and wet FAT in the onsite test tank as test conductor, working through each procedure with technicians on the floor.
- Become the subject-matter expert on the vehicle's mechanical and electromechanical checks.
- Own the in-water checks in wet FAT and confirm each vehicle is ready for delivery to the customer.
- Decide which tests add value and which repeat earlier checks, and cut test time while still proving product requirements.
- Push tests upstream to catch problems at the smallest assembly possible.
- Troubleshoot vehicle-level failures hands-on and lead data-driven root cause analysis.
- Design and maintain test equipment, rigs, and fixtures used in dry and wet FAT.
- Keep FAT procedures matched to the as-built vehicle as design changes.
- Write troubleshooting runbooks with symptoms, diagnostic steps, and fixes.
- Use Python and AI coding tools to automate test sequences and parse test logs.
- Work with the Sydney test team to ensure both sites run the same tests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, or computer engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in designing tests for electromechanical hardware in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with hardware testing and automated test systems.
- Familiarity with bench equipment such as oscilloscopes and programmable power supplies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing test limits and common failure modes.
- Experience running programmed scripts in Python or similar languages.
- Understanding of communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, and CAN.
- Experience with complex electromechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Subsea robotics or AUV/UUV experience.
- Familiarity with PLM, MES, Jama, and test execution systems.
- Experience with high-voltage systems up to 400 V.
- Projects integrating electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
Benefits
Anduril offers a comprehensive benefits package, including equity grants, top-tier benefits, and relocation assistance.
