Description
Anthropic is building AI systems that will shape the trajectory of one of the most consequential technologies in human history. The company is looking for a Community Engagement Manager in New York to join its Public Policy team and serve as Anthropic's on-the-ground presence in the communities where its data centers are sited, built, and operated.
The Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining trusted, sustained relationships with local officials, community organizations, economic development partners, and residents. The goal is to make Anthropic a trusted, visible, and valued neighbor, from the earliest stages of site selection through construction and long-term operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining relationships with local stakeholders
- Developing and executing a community engagement strategy
- Building external coalitions and hosting education and listening sessions
- Representing Anthropic in public forums and local media
- Monitoring community sentiment and advising internal teams on risks and opportunities
- Partnering with the Real Estate and Infrastructure team to bring community input into project planning
- Working with the Communications team to develop proactive messaging
- Coordinating charitable giving and community investment
- Building a community engagement playbook and repeatable processes
The ideal candidate will have experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, or a related field, as well as direct experience working with local governments and community stakeholders on large infrastructure projects.
The annual compensation range for this role is $265,000-$295,000 USD.
