Your Tasks and Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Collaborate and Learn: Partner with our talented engineers and staff to enhance chemical processes, improve yields, reduce waste, and cut down cycle times;
  • Project Development: Help shape project objectives and scope by analyzing stakeholder requirements and basic design packages;
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all projects and activities align with engineering standards, Safety and Environmental regulations, and plant operating protocols;
  • Manufacturing Insights: Work with facilities and reliability engineers to understand maintenance, procurement, and reliability programs in chemical plants;
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform and verify engineering calculations using standard methods and principles;
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct engineering cost, feasibility, and planning studies, providing recommendations based on stakeholder needs and data analysis;
  • Daily Collaboration: Team up with production and technical staff for process troubleshooting and problem-solving;
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to the implementation of our Operational Excellence program and support site-wide Process Improvement/Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Who You Are

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering;
  • Successfully completed Sophomore year or higher and returning to school upon completion of intern or co-op;
  • Ability to drive to and from work location;
  • Willingness to work in a chemical plant environment;
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week and physically willing and able to climb stairs and ladders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant).
