Description
We are seeking a Principal Engineer – Building Technology Systems (BTS) to lead, design, review, guide, coordinate, and assure the delivery of ICT, AV, security, and ELV systems across various projects.
The successful candidate will provide design leadership, technical review, and assurance for ICT, AV, security, and ELV systems, as well as manage integration with architectural, MEP, structural, and specialist disciplines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the BTS discipline from concept through detailed design, tender documentation, and construction-stage support
- Providing design leadership, technical review, and assurance for ICT, AV, security, and ELV systems
- Managing integration of BTS systems with architectural, MEP, structural, and specialist disciplines
- Coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to support effective project delivery
- Ensuring BTS designs comply with project requirements, international standards, local authority regulations, and company quality procedures
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10-15 years of experience in ICT, AV, security, or ELV systems design consultancy
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on complex building or infrastructure projects
- Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and make sound engineering decisions
Preferred skills include:
- Familiarity with specialist ICT, AV, security, and wireless design tools such as Ekahau, iBwave, JVSG, or EASE
- Professional certifications such as BICSI RCDD, AVIXA CTS, or equivalent
- Middle East project design and authority approval experience
In terms of software tools, you will need to have working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and BIM coordination workflows.
