Grade 6 Math Teacher (26-27 SY)

Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a Grade 6 Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will deliver exceptional instruction and assess student growth in a rigorous and culturally relevant math program.

Responsibilities:

• Assume a high level of personal responsibility for the progress of all students
• Create academically rigorous and culturally relevant lesson plans, materials, and assessments
• Execute specially designed lesson plans that focus on conceptual understanding
• Teach engaging, rigorous, and relevant lessons daily
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• Commit to a school culture of consistency and reflect on one's own implicit biases
• Reflect on various data sources to improve practice
• Take on a proactive role in creating a positive and structured school environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to create and refine schoolwide and classroom-based systems
• Ensure effective classroom management and develop strong relationships with students
• Develop and implement individualized behavioral intervention plans
• Actively participate in opportunities to strengthen pedagogical skills and contribute to the learning of colleagues

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or Mathematics-related field
• New York State Teaching Certification
• Strong understanding of Middle School-level Mathematics
• Experience working with Middle school-aged children
• Exceptional patience and focus to overcome challenges
• Strong classroom management skills and presence
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
