Description
As a Plumbing Technician at SpaceXAI, you will be responsible for owning the piping, pumping, drainage, and treatment systems that keep highly critical systems running in our data centre. You will assemble, install, troubleshoot, and repair process water, wastewater, chemical transfer, and facility plumbing systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes
- Troubleshoot and service commercial plumbing fixtures and systems
- Install various pressure vessels to OSHA certification standards
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously using the work order system and respond quickly to emergencies
- Maintain and repair all facility-related plumbing systems
- Perform hands-on shop work and/or on-site disassembly, inspection, reporting, cleaning, and reassembly of pumps and other mechanical equipment
- Collaborate with other departments to perform pump troubleshooting, assessment, maintenance, testing, and repair
- Ensure work and used materials comply with manufacturer specifications
- Read and interpret schematics for assembly, repair, and reassembly as required
- Perform failure assessments and make recommendations to supervisors
- Conduct day-to-day and routine safety observations and inspections
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of plumbing experience
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with commercial building codes
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, methods, and tools of the plumber's trade
- Proficiency with sewer snakes/cleaning machinery
- Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Ability to complete plumbing, preventive maintenance, and repairs with minimal supervision
- Good interpersonal skills for interacting with multiple departments
- Experience with air compressors, centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps, rotary pumps, and/or vacuum pumps
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical language in specifications, schematics, and blueprints
- Skilled in reading technical instructions related to the trade
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing atmosphere and follow safety practices and regulations
- Understanding of pressure, temperature, and other operating conditions
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnosing systemic problems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
- Physical demands include standing for long periods, climbing ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
- Willingness to work under adverse conditions
