Description

We are seeking a talented Product Engineering Specialist to join our team in Darlington, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth delivery of products by coordinating across engineering, customer teams, suppliers, and manufacturing. You will influence product decisions by gathering stakeholder input and translating it into actionable recommendations. Your sound engineering judgement will drive project progress, and you will improve product reliability by identifying risks and mitigating potential failure modes early.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating across engineering, customer teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure alignment and smooth delivery
  • Influencing product decisions by gathering input from stakeholders and translating it into clear recommendations
  • Driving progress on projects by applying sound engineering judgement to day-to-day technical decisions
  • Improving product reliability by identifying risks and mitigating potential failure modes early
  • Supporting design decisions through analysis, simulation, and interpretation of technical data
  • Leading smaller projects or taking ownership of components or systems with increasing accountability
  • Strengthening engineering processes by applying and improving tools such as problem-solving methods and design reviews
  • Supporting and guiding colleagues by sharing knowledge and contributing to the development of less experienced engineers

Requirements:

  • Experience working on technical products at the component or subsystem level within an engineering environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complexity and analyse data effectively
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to organise work, manage priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced setting
  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant STEM subject
  • Equivalent practical experience may also be considered
  • Ongoing professional development or working towards a recognised engineering status is advantageous
  • Strong expertise in CAD modeling, mechanical design, and analysis, with the ability to apply standards and best practices
