Senior Engineering Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers responsible for building and maintaining Cloudflare's billing and payments infrastructure.

About the Role

You will oversee the development of scalable, high-reliability financial infrastructure that handles everything related to Cloudflare's revenue. Your work will directly support billions in revenue and millions of customers while enabling new product launches across Cloudflare.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of skilled engineers to design and implement a next-generation financial infrastructure that ensures financial accuracy and seamless performance.
• Drive the execution of complex technical initiatives, ensuring our architecture is resilient, scalable, and future-proof.
• Foster a culture of proactive communication and continuous learning within the team.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, finance, data science, operations, and support departments to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Requirements

• Experience leading a team or multiple teams of senior and staff engineers.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, driving alignment, and clearly creating and communicating technical direction for large cross-company efforts.
• Comfortable leading and hiring a team that builds the backend systems and frontend parts of the product.
• Excel at planning, creating teams, and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability.
• Demonstrate a track record of leading a team including hiring, onboarding, and professional development.

Nice to Have

• Experience building massive distributed systems.
• Experience leading teams working on areas of financial infrastructure, payments, billing, and data infrastructure.
