We are Brooke Charter Schools, a network of four public charter schools serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. We coach and invest in our teachers to ensure students experience high-quality education at all times.
The Bus Monitor role at Brooke East Boston involves arriving on time at the first pick-up stop in the morning and at dismissal. This is a part-time role with hours from 6:00-7:15 am and 4:00-5:30 pm. As a Bus Monitor, you will direct children to pick-up and drop-off locations, ensure the safety of each child, check the roster, and maintain attendance for all students. You will also need to stay calm during emergencies, resolve routine communication problems or incident reports with families, students, and school officials, and demonstrate teamwork with the bus driver daily.
The compensation for this role is $20/hour with an additional monthly stipend of $300.
To be considered for this role, you should have a high school diploma or GED, prior experience working with children, and be able to lead large groups of children in a positive and safe manner. You should be professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
