Description
Ford of Canada is seeking a Manufacturing Software Developer – Test Station to work on station-side code supporting hardware testing of electronic control units. The role involves functional testing of hardware in factory-built devices and design verification through automated reliability testing in lab environments.
The team is composed of groups at multiple sites in Canada and the US. The successful candidate will work with local and remote team members, sharing knowledge and insights, and have opportunities to travel to factory locations for on-site support.
Responsibilities:
- Review and develop an understanding of manufacturing test requirements
- Investigate software solutions for hardware design validation with hardware and software team members
- Design, develop, and test software for manufacturing to meet requirements
- Perform hardware/software technical debugging, troubleshooting, and log analysis to determine failure causes during manufacturing runs
- Fix bugs and make configuration changes to resolve problems identified from analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience with TestStand
- 2-3 years of experience developing with C# (executables/library development)
- Experience in object-oriented programming design principles and patterns
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics
- Experience with wireless technologies (GSM, LTE, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, WLAN)
- Prior experience developing software for hardware testing using measurement equipment
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with time-critical projects
- Prior experience with hardware debugging
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with Qualcomm tools
- Experience in manufacturing and support of test software for manufacturing
- Good verbal and written communication skills
The expected annual salary range for this position is $89,000.00 - $139,000.00, and individuals may be eligible to participate in the Annual Compensation bonus program.
