Dedicated Aid-Paraprofessional

At Rocketship Public Schools, we believe in the infinite possibility of human potential. We are seeking a Dedicated Aid-Paraprofessional to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring student academic growth, meeting academic goals, and providing support to teachers and students.

Essential Functions

• Ensure student academic growth in reading and math abilities
• Meet academic goals aligned to campus data goals
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff to enhance student achievement
• Initiate behaviour management and social emotional supports
• Implement student IEPs under the direction of the special education case manager
• Provide small group and whole group instruction using specified materials and curriculums
• Progress monitor student goals and communicate with case managers and general education teachers
• Record data for individualized instructional programs and positive behaviour support plans
• Implement behaviour intervention plans and collect student behaviour data
• Perform routine first aid and respond to student crises
• Assist with parent conferences and pupil instruction planning processes
• Participate in meetings and professional learning as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with children/adults with special needs
• One year of experience in a classroom and/or education setting
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree, or 48+ college credits or passing score on Rocketship's Paraprofessional Assessment required
• Obtain and maintain District-approved Crisis Intervention System certification or applied behaviour analysis experience
• Comfort in a start-up environment with flexibility and strong interpersonal skills
