Associate, Institutional Portfolio Group (IPG)

We are seeking an Associate, Institutional Portfolio Group (IPG) to support coverage bankers in managing and growing relationships across a portfolio of Banks and Public Sector clients.

The role blends relationship management, business development support, transaction execution, and strong ownership of credit and financial crime risk obligations.

As our Associate, Institutional Portfolio Group (IPG), you will:

• Support Relationship Managers/Global Relationship Managers in day-to-day coverage for a portfolio of Banks and Public Sector clients
• Coordinate across HSBC’s network to deliver products and services to clients, identifying opportunities and supporting the conversion of ideas into executed outcomes
• Plan and deliver high-profile client meetings, materials, and events that support business development and HSBC’s strategy
• Support revenue generation against targets, product alignment, customer satisfaction, and disciplined cost management
• Maintain effective working relationships with key client contacts and internal stakeholders across regions and product teams
• Support origination and execution across a broad spectrum of HSBC capabilities and products
• Partner with product and risk stakeholders to ensure transactions appropriately balance risk and return, meet internal governance requirements, and protect HSBC from material loss
• Draft and present credit requests and supporting documentation to senior credit officers and relevant internal committees
• Act as a First Line of Defense owner for managing financial crime and relationship risk across the portfolio
• Ensure assigned relationships comply with AML/KYC/Compliance requirements and HSBC control standards
• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely remediation of audit findings and addressing issues raised by internal governance and external regulators

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

• Proficient Spanish language skills
• Analyst/Associate-level experience in banking/financial services, ideally with exposure to Financial Institutions and/or Public Sector clients across jurisdictions
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead by influence across countries, teams, and senior stakeholders
• Good understanding of financial markets and banking products
• Strong risk mindset, including familiarity with credit fundamentals and financial crime/AML/KYC expectations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn quickly and take ownership
• Commitment to acting with integrity and upholding HSBC’s values and business principles
• FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses are required.
