Join Ford Motor Company's Color & Material team as a designer, shaping the future of their product lineup, including Battery Electric Vehicles, Commercial vehicles, and more. As a Color & Material Designer, you will create, curate, and deliver Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) solutions that influence and enhance the current automotive landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Create, curate, and deliver CMF solutions and specify all CMF applications on vehicle exteriors and interiors.
- Ideate and create overall CMF designs using concepts that embody a creative narrative, advanced functionality, and innovative user experience.
- Ensure integration of complex CMF into overall vehicle design and alignment with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to translate new designs into visual samples.
- Partner with teammates to analyze future consumer trends and identify brand-relevant CMF narratives.
- Develop digital and physical CMF presentations that accurately depict design intent.
- Support program timing and ensure deliverables are met within program targets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Color and Material Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience with a Master's degree or 5 years with a Bachelor's degree.
- Automotive CMF Design experience is required.
- 3D visualization skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Adobe Suite tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, VRED) and Microsoft Suite tools (PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience with generative AI tools and demonstrated understanding of color theory.
- Portfolio of work is required.
