We are seeking a creative, innovative, and enterprising Anchor for WLTX-TV, a TEGNA CBS affiliate in Columbia. As an excellent on-camera communicator, you will serve the needs of our audience and community by exceling in accountability reporting and breaking news. You will trailblaze the future of news, find and defend the truth, and tell the stories of our community.

Responsibilities:

• Use editorial judgment to help determine newscast content.
• Collaborate with producers to create unique, fast-paced newscasts.
• Utilize social media to identify content and highlight significant stories.
• Write and post daily on all digital platforms, including social media.
• Develop story ideas, write, shoot, and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting.
• Create original content through social listening and independent sources.
• Perform tasks as required by supervisors or executive producers.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5-7 years of news anchor/reporting experience.
• Ability to develop story ideas, write, shoot, and edit news stories for television, mobile, and social platforms.
• Excellent presentation and writing skills.
• Understanding of professional journalism tenets.
• Current driver's license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle.
