Mission Software Engineer, Mission Systems, Deployment and Infrastructure

Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) is responsible for autonomous robotics systems like the Fury unmanned fighter jet and the Barracuda family of advanced effects.

The AD&S Mission Systems Deployment & Infrastructure team owns the path our software takes from a developer's commit to running on a vehicle in the field.

Responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and build infrastructure in a production environment
• Developing production-grade software in a Linux environment (C++, Rust, Python, Go, or equivalent)
• Working with Kubernetes and container orchestration, including deploying and managing services in constrained or non-standard network environments
• Troubleshooting complex, multi-stage delivery pipelines and diagnosing failures across build, test, and deployment stages
• Using Git & GitHub, including branching/release strategies for shipping software to production

Requirements:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and build infrastructure in a production environment
• Production-grade software development experience (C++, Rust, Python, Go, or equivalent) in a Linux environment
• Deep experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Comfort navigating complex, multi-stage delivery pipelines and diagnosing failures
• Experience with Git & GitHub
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
• Track record of high ownership and bias for action

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience delivering software into classified, air-gapped, or otherwise disconnected environments
• Familiarity with building and maintaining software-in-the-loop (SITL) or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test infrastructure
• Experience running Kubernetes on constrained or embedded hardware
• Experience with systemd and Linux system-level service management
• Experience deploying, debugging, and testing infrastructure on physical systems
• Familiarity with artifact repositories, package management, and secure software supply chain practices

Salary Range: $166,000-$220,000 USD
