Power Generation Field Service Technician - Level II

We are looking for a talented Power Generation Field Service Technician, Level II to join our team in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This role involves diagnosing and completing less complex repairs to generators and components at the customer's site. You will conduct moderately complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, minor and mid-level repairs, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance on all power generation systems, parts, and components at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Anticipate and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
• Apply specialized tools and follow documented procedures to diagnose and complete less complex repairs
• Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field
• Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor
• Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents
• Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental Policies, procedures, and legislation

Requirements:

• Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred) or Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
• Current relevant electrical certification
• Locally valid driving permits
• Basic level field service work experience
• Chargeman A4 certificate of competence at least 2 years of work experience, with 1 year in generator low voltage synchronization
• Troubleshoot Engine and AC Main Alternator (Generator set)
• Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
• High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
• Customer service experience
• Experience in Cummins Power Generator is preferred
• Bilinguals preferred (English/Chinese/Malay)
