The Material Control Superintendent is a leadership role whose primary responsibility is to lead and develop Material Control Supervisors while overseeing the broader operation. This is an onsite position that will require flexibility including the ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends and most holidays. Eligible for overtime pay when working holidays.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of a Parts Distribution Center
- Managing deadlines and timelines with a high degree of planned and unplanned variables and complexities
- Championing and leading continuous improvement initiatives toward best-in-class performance
- Managing all operations: Inbound, outbound, claims processing, building maintenance
- Delivering objectives related to Cost, Quality, Safety, Efficiency, Absenteeism and Inventory Accuracy
- Maintaining a positive working relationship with all stakeholders, including fair and consistent administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Supervising and developing material control supervisors
- Managing inventory, budgets, facility management, operational business plans, and liaising with external partners
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of operational experience in Logistics within manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with systems SAP/EWM
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently
- Goal-oriented mindset
- Open to rotating shifts
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality and reduced costs
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to ensure accountability from all employees
