Description
WSP USA is seeking a Civil & Earthworks Junior Designer for their US Mine Waste Civil Design and Drafting Team in Reno, NV.
In this role, you will work independently or under general supervision to provide technical design and CADD support on projects. Your work will contribute to the development of designs and specifications for mining, planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on civil and geotechnical engineering projects, including mine infrastructure, stormwater and surface-water controls, landfill design, and reclamation
- Create, modify, and develop drawing packages using Autodesk Civil 3D
- Ensure quality assurance in drafting and design plans by adhering to company CADD standards and workflows
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from physical work sites, surveys, and technical drawings
- Use Autodesk Civil 3D to assist with basic design details and prepare drawings
- Provide technical drafting and design assistance, ensuring construction and maintainability of designs
- Manage production of multiple drawings and projects simultaneously
- Assist with verifying calculations, design changes, and interpretation of contract plans and specifications
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in CADD/Engineering technology or equivalent
- Demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD 2024 or newer
- Strong understanding of drafting and design support principles, practices, and techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and on teams
- Willingness to adapt to project schedules and work under pressure
