Description
At Ford Motor Company, a global leader in the automotive industry, we are seeking an Advanced Gasoline Emissions Research Engineer to join our Research and Advanced Engineering team. In this role, you will develop control systems for gasoline and hybrid powertrains, employ advanced control methods, and leverage software version control.
Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle and dynamometer-based testing to collect required data
- Develop vehicle and gasoline engine test plans
- Perform data analysis
- Develop requirements
- Perform system engineering analysis
- Design and execute test plans to evaluate controller robustness
- Design control systems to meet requirements
- Implement control systems into embedded 'C' software
- Collaborate with HIL/SIL/MIL teams to test software
- Perform version control of software releases
- Design and set up experimental control systems
- Specify instrumentation for experimental vehicle and dynamometer test setups
- Develop tools and documentation for calibration of new control system designs
- Leverage artificial intelligence to achieve efficiency in designs
- Present designs and performance to senior management and subject matter experts
Qualifications:
- Master's or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in control design and modeling for mechanical or electrical systems
- 3 years of experience with Matlab and Simulink
- 3 years of experience in data analysis for mechanical or electrical systems
- 1 year of experience designing controls for internal combustion engines and emissions
- 1 year of experience applying advanced signal processing techniques
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, presenting to stakeholders, and with HIL/SIL methods
- Working knowledge of 'C' programming language

Salary: $99,600 - $166,600 (salary grade 7) or $115,000 - $192,900 (salary grade 8)
