Senior Automation Engineer, Quality Platform

The Quality Engineering team at Airbnb helps build high-quality software efficiently by enabling engineers to develop highly testable systems using AI-powered tools.

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a leadership role in redefining and accelerating Quality Engineering by building and maintaining automation coverage for features and releases.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automation coverage for features and releases
• Collaborate with the product engineering team to develop and maintain test tools
• Write and test product code, participate in design reviews, and guide designs and code to enhance modularity and testability
• Implement a test automation strategy using AI and tooling to cover the entire testing pyramid
• Lead building, maintaining, and effective utilization of automated tests
• Contribute to improving existing automation frameworks
• Collaborate with CI/CD team to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot issues, isolate problems, and verify bug fixes

Requirements:

• 5+ years of industry experience in software testing and automation
• Knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Typescript, Javascript)
• Strong knowledge of test automation methodologies, tools, and frameworks
• Experience with web automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress)
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git)
• Excellent communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent
