Territory Sales Manager

GitLab is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for Japan, focusing on the Digital Natives and Retail industry. The successful candidate will own and grow enterprise relationships in the Japan market, leading the entire sales cycle from prospecting to long-term adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support strategic prospects and customers in Japan, owning the full sales cycle for enterprise accounts
• Develop and execute account plans aligned to customer business needs and long-term goals
• Conduct prospecting and opportunity development activities with strategic channel partners
• Coordinate pre- and post-sales engagement to ensure successful rollout and adoption of GitLab products
• Provide clear account leadership and regular reporting to sales management
• Analyze wins and losses, contributing to root cause analysis and sharing lessons learned
• Act as the voice of the customer, sharing feedback and product ideas
• Use a consultative sales approach to uncover business issues and deliver compelling proposals

Requirements:

• Experience managing complex sales cycles with large enterprise customers in Digital Natives and retail
• Proven ability to prospect, qualify, and develop new opportunities while growing existing accounts
• Skill in leading pre- and post-sales activities and coordinating with technical, support, and channel partners
• Proficiency in consultative selling and building account plans
• Ability to prepare accurate activity, pipeline, and forecast reports
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with software development concepts and tools, preferably with exposure to Git or similar technologies

About the Team: The Territory Sales Manager will join the enterprise sales team, focusing on driving GitLab adoption with large customers in Japan. The team works in an all-remote, distributed environment, collaborating asynchronously across time zones.
