Spire Bushey Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner to join our team. We are looking for dedicated and motivated Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) to become part of our specialist elective orthopaedic scrub team. Based within a major trauma centre, our department delivers high-quality care across a wide range of orthopaedic specialties, offering a dynamic and rewarding environment for professionals committed to excellence in patient care and surgical practice.
The successful candidate will have a crucial role in providing exemplary planned care for patients within the perioperative and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre. Responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patient's health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload
- Assisting in the delivery of care to meet patient's health and wellbeing
- Providing and receiving complex, sensitive or contentious information
- Developing own knowledge and skills and that of others
- Promoting best practice in health and safety and security
- Assisting in maintaining and developing services
- Contributing to quality improvement
- Promoting people's equality, diversity and rights
- Applying technology for measurement, monitoring and treatment
- Acknowledging the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understanding own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI
To be considered for this role, you will need to be a registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with at least 2 years of ortho scrub experience. Previous leadership experience would be an advantage, however we offer award-winning training and CPD. You must be passionate and driven and be able to demonstrate your dynamic thinking.
