UX Designer, LifeSG

GovTech is the lead agency driving Singapore's Smart Nation initiatives and public sector digital transformation. As the Centre of Excellence for Infocomm Technology and Smart Systems (ICT & SS), GovTech develops the Singapore Government's capabilities in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Application Development, Smart City Technology, Digital Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity.

The Government Digital Products (GDP) Team aims to spearhead the digital transformation of government. We are a team of technologists in GovTech that aims to design and develop software applications that help government agencies better serve the needs of Singaporeans. We adopt an Agile development approach and work towards adopting tech best practices and cutting edge tools.

As a UX designer, you will work with our scrum team and other government agencies to inform product and design decisions. You will get to influence the digital experience of the agency's e-services. This will involve having good interpersonal skills, sharp analytical mind, and astute design judgement.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with designers, engineers, business analysts, and product managers to continuously deliver features for transforming citizen experience and improving agency efficiency.
• Sit with the project scrum team, as a member of the UX team in GDP.
• Within your first month, understand the overall product strategy, conduct a stock take on the UX status of the project, and contribute design screens for concurrent active sprints.
• By the end of 3 months, run an inception, gather requirements, co-create with stakeholders and scrum team, test, prototype, and ship at least one new feature to the product backlog.
• After 6 months, lead research efforts to identify at least one opportunity for the product to grow or propose enhancements for the existing tracks, in collaboration with designers, engineers, and product managers.

Requirements:

• Product and user-centric mindset.
• Desire to serve the public through the use of technology.
• Ability to grasp the use case and come up with task flows in a short span of time.
• Collaborative and understanding that co-creating a product with the team and stakeholders will have a higher chance of it being the best product.
• Data-driven, with experience in user research, to use data to justify design decisions.
• Ability to translate user research into design recommendations and findings.
• Meticulous and possess good problem-solving skills.
• Frontend development knowledge is a bonus.

Preferred Requirements:

• At least 4-5 years of professional experience in product design, working on end-to-end delivery.
• Experience in Agile and UX development environment.
• Previous experience leading a team in UX design.
