Dayside Senior Producer

KING, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Seattle, WA, is seeking an innovative Dayside Senior Producer to shape and energize daily newscasts with strong editorial choices, urgency, and accuracy.

The Senior Producer will be a key editorial voice, working closely with the Executive Producer to ensure linear and streaming-only products beat the competition and serve the community.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with producers to create standout shows
• Inspire and motivate a team while leading by example
• Guide editorial decision-making as a newsroom leader
• Lead special projects such as elections and big event coverage plans
• Provide continuous coverage on live streams for breaking news and community events
• Demonstrate professionalism and composure under deadlines and pressure
• Try new strategies and techniques
• Use data analytics to shape content decisions
• Challenge traditional approaches
• Train producers and newsroom staff on best practices
• Fill in for the Executive Producer

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 5 years of news content experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong journalistic judgment and news philosophy
• Understanding of professional journalism tenets
• Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Ability to handle live, breaking news situations
• ENPS and Edius system experience preferred
