WSP's Energy business is looking to expand its Electricity Transmission & Distribution service line in Ireland and is excited to appoint an Assistant Design Manager to join our team based out of the Dublin, Naas or Belfast office.
As an Assistant Design Manager working within WSP's Ireland Energy business, you will be responsible for working as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering the power transmission infrastructure that will deliver Net Zero to the Energy System.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to contribute to well-integrated and high-quality design solutions.
- Assisting in the coordination and development of design teams for HV/MV projects.
- Providing support to design management activities, including resource coordination and tracking of deliverables.
- Facilitating integration of inputs from various technical disciplines.
- Assisting in ensuring design outputs align with project requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Contributing to technical delivery across all project stages.
- Monitoring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications.
- Supporting the preparation of technical progress reports and updates.
- Assisting in defining and managing project scope and supporting design coordination during construction.
Requirements:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Substation design experience.
- A passion for design and developing innovative solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ambition to progress towards chartered status.
