Manufacturing Shop Operations Team Manager

We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Shop Operations Team Manager at Jamestown Engine Plant. This role leads day-to-day shop operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of the daily production plan while maximizing resource utilization and meeting performance expectations.

As a frontline leader, you will maintain operational discipline, support continuous improvement efforts, and foster a culture of accountability, consistency, and strong communication across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations, overseeing the production team's activities to ensure smooth workflows and adherence to operational standards.
• Lead team members, providing clear direction, setting expectations, and clarifying responsibilities to help them achieve goals effectively.
• Ensure production targets are met, monitoring progress and driving performance to consistently meet or exceed production objectives.
• Promote safety and quality, collaborating across functions to identify and implement improvements.
• Serve as project lead, taking ownership of projects and working with cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes.
• Provide guidance and feedback, supporting team members through constructive feedback and actionable insights.
• Coach and mentor team members, fostering their professional growth and developing their skills.
• Maintain housekeeping standards, ensuring a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• College, university, or equivalent degree required, or equivalent experience.
• Licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations may be required.

Experience:

• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Manage performance and behavior through coaching, mentoring, and progressive discipline.
• Oversee execution of the daily Production Plan, managing resources to maximize results.

• Strong communication skills and ability to develop and coach staff required.
• Project work, including leading projects from start to finish.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop and close Corrective Action Responses (CARs).
