As a Manager at Lush, you'll lead our EC’s Manufacturing operation at Unit 17, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent delivery of fragrance products globally. You'll develop the team, improve processes, and make the most of our manufacturing capability.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the EC Manufacturing Operation
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring right products, quality, and delivery meet global supply and customer demand.
- Set and monitor key operational KPIs across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
- Work with Quality and operational teams to identify and resolve quality issues, improve processes, and prevent recurring problems.
- Manage departmental budgets and operational costs, working with Finance to understand financial performance.
- Plan and manage capacity, resources, and future manufacturing requirements.
- Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring contingency and business continuity plans.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and deliver sustainable cost savings.
Leading and Developing Our People
- Lead and develop management and operational teams, creating clear expectations and accountability.
- Coach and support people to build capability, confidence, and leadership skills.
- Develop multi-skilled teams and flexible working to strengthen resilience.
- Ensure teams have necessary training, support, and resources.
Improving How We Work
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Use production data and team knowledge to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Lead improvement projects and implement changes delivering measurable benefits.
- Support operational change, ensuring new processes and systems are successfully implemented.
Production Planning & Product Delivery
- Work with Production Planning and teams to ensure achievable production plans.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Stock teams to manage materials and stock levels.
- Lead manufacturing readiness of new products and support product discontinuations.
Working Across the Business
- Build strong relationships with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, and other teams.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, business cases, and investment decisions.
- Bring manufacturing expertise to wider business projects and operational improvements.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of GMP, Health & Safety, ATEX, and fire safety.
- Lead a proactive safety culture, identifying and managing risks.
- Ensure department readiness for internal and external audits.
- Support environmental and sustainability initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience leading a manufacturing or production operation.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing people.
- Ability to use data, KPIs, and financial information to inform decisions.
- Knowledge of production planning, capacity management, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with managing operational change and health & safety in a manufacturing environment.
