Electronic Arts is seeking a Development Manager to lead the 3D Characters team for the EA SPORTS NHL franchise in Vancouver, British Columbia. The successful candidate will report to a Development Director and oversee project schedules, manage the team, and ensure high-quality game feature delivery.

The EA SPORTS NHL franchise has revolutionized sports gaming, connecting players to the speed, skill, and heart of the NHL. The team is composed of diverse talent dedicated to creating on-ice experiences that bring gamers together through play.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a development team consisting of Software Engineers, Animators, Artists, and Designers.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, and make trade-offs to balance needs versus technical constraints.
  • Focus on the immediate team, identifying team issues, and suggesting solutions related to execution goals.
  • Ensure each project setup meets specifications with regular status reporting and capacity plan updates.
  • Establish engagement processes to ensure clear workflows, documented processes, and trained staff.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Project Management or Project Lead Experience with 3D art production lifecycles, processes, and project planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Game Development, Business, or 3D Arts.
  • Experience in a Scrum/Agile software development environment (Jira, Perforce, and Visio).
  • Experience working with expansive teams, mediation, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to use generative AI productivity tools for daily workflow optimization, early-stage ideation, rapid prototyping, and critically validating AI output.
