Forward Deployed Engineer

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Cursor, you will embed directly with customer engineering teams to design, build, and deploy production-grade workflows that measurably improve their software development processes.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading discovery conversations with customer engineers to identify bottlenecks and define success metrics
• Designing and building Cursor-powered workflows, such as large-scale refactors, migrations, and incident response pipelines
• Shipping fast first versions and hardening them into reliable systems with proper rollout plans, monitoring, and iteration
• Owning production quality, including tracing, evals, metrics, debugging model behavior, and failure modes
• Working directly with senior leaders and engineers to communicate tradeoffs and results
• Turning your builds into reusable patterns and pushing improvements back into the core Cursor product

To be a good fit for this role, you should:

• Thrive in ambiguous environments and turn fuzzy problems into clear scopes and shipped systems
• Have experience building and owning AI-native workflows in production, with a focus on debugging real-world model failures
• Be comfortable leading discovery conversations and being accountable for customer outcomes
• Be able to build end-to-end systems, including frontend, backend, infrastructure, and prompt iteration
• Have experience handling production reliability, including metrics, alerts, safe rollouts, and incident response
• Be proficient in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript, with the ability to quickly ramp up on new stacks
