Consultant Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Principal responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business users and internal technology teams to deliver high-quality banking solutions.
• Analyse business and system requirements and translate them into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
• Design and develop applications using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, React, REST APIs, and database; build backend services and frontend components; and develop and optimise SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures in accordance with project requirements and coding standards.
• Test, deploy, and support applications; participate in technical design, code, and test reviews; prepare and execute unit and system integration tests; and support production implementations.
• Investigate application and database issues, proactively recommend solutions, and drive issues through to resolution while collaborating with development, testing, operations, and support teams to ensure smooth releases and reliable production support.
• Promote knowledge sharing, technical innovation, and consistent engineering practices across the team.
• Lead and mentor team members, coordinate delivery activities, and foster a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.
• Use approved AI tools effectively and responsibly to improve software quality, engineering productivity, and delivery speed.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience developing applications using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, React, and REST APIs.
• Solid DB2 knowledge, including SQL development, query optimisation, stored procedures, and database troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of system design, microservices, integration patterns, AWS services, and cloud deployment concepts.
• Experience across the software delivery lifecycle, including technical design, code reviews, testing, debugging, deployment, and production support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sense of ownership and experience leading delivery and mentoring team members.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business users, developers, testing teams, and support teams.
• At least seven years of experience designing, developing, or supporting banking applications.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
