SBN - Chief Baker

We are seeking an experienced Chief Baker to lead our bakery team onboard. As a Chief Baker, you will oversee the preparation of bakery products for guests and crew, ensuring high-quality products and excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise, and assist in the preparation of bakery products onboard, adhering to company standards.
• Conduct regular training sessions on food waste separation and environmental compliance.
• Prepare daily schedules for bakery team members and evaluate their performance.
• Implement and execute food handling and cleaning procedures in accordance with USPH standards.
• Control food costs by monitoring production, consumption, and forecasts.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef to achieve high Guest Satisfaction Scores.
• Ensure proper food storage and report any discrepancies.
• Supervise and inspect the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the bakery area.
• Assign cleaning responsibilities and follow up on tasks.
• Report malfunctioning equipment or furnishings to the Executive Chef.
• Collaborate with galley leadership and other department leaders.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• 5+ years of experience in a 5-star hotel, cruise ship, or high-profile restaurant as a Chief Baker.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a multi-national setting.
• Experience in high-volume operations (at least 500 meals per service).
• Certification from an accredited advanced food safety program.
• Extensive knowledge of kitchen machinery and knife safety.
• Effective English language skills.
• Preferred: Degree from an accredited culinary college or university bakery program.
