Inventory Analyst

The Industrial Material Inventory Analyst is responsible for optimizing industrial material inventory across plants while ensuring compliance with Ford's inventory management and financial guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure plants operate with optimal levels of inventory for machine spares and consumables with no risk to production.
• Assess demand and consumption trends to align procurement orders and in-plant stocks with changing demand.
• Drive collaborative working between plants on optimized purchase and reuse of industrial material spares.
• Reduce industrial material inventory in all plants by achieving actuals in line with budget.
• Utilize new-age tools to drive process efficiencies and innovation.
• Review daily work chains for stock replenishment based on part usage, lead time, pricing, and other factors.
• Prioritize backorder requests and review critical and high-value items daily.
• Govern item changes, such as delete where used, master catalog control changes, and part status changes.
• Request quotations from vendors and place initial orders to fulfill safety stock requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers on past-due orders and update requestors on shipment arrivals.
• Support plant-to-plant transfer requests and provide shipment status to plants on all open orders.
• Constantly interact with plant shop floor managers to ensure material stock and orders align with requirements.
• Work with plants to scrap or sell unused parts to drive inventory reduction and save space.
• Coordinate between plants and purchasing to drive common source procurement and support reduction in procurement costs.
• Develop Excel macro tools to track and monitor industrial material consumption and suggest procurement strategies.
• Use new-age tools like PEGA, Alteryx, R, Python, and SQL to simplify processes and drive improvements.
