Description
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Development Engineer II to join our team at Honda's power unit division in Raymond, Ohio. As a Senior Mechanical Development Engineer II, you will play a critical role in testing, supporting design, and bringing powertrain components and technologies into our vehicles.
The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of Honda's vision for the future and be able to contribute to our goal of achieving a zero environmental footprint. You will be responsible for delivering defined engineering assignments with minimal guidance, while expanding your technical knowledge and deepening your expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Testing, Simulation, and Data Setting: Plan and execute tests and simulations, conduct failure analysis, analyze test/simulations results, and propose design changes or recommend countermeasures to ensure assigned parts meet design specifications.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats.
- Documentation: Prepare moderately complex documentation for review by more senior colleagues to record and submit all necessary information as the development process moves forward.
- Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals, support project schedules, coordinate project meetings, provide regular updates and reports, and contribute to meeting project budgets and timelines.
- Personal Development: Develop your expertise and capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities, formal and informal training, and coaching.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A college-level Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical) or a related STEM field of study.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to work with data analysis tools.
- The ability to drive and evaluate vehicles dynamically.
- Strong leadership capabilities to guide teams of engineers to meet vehicle function targets.

This is an onsite job, with one remote workday per week possible with prior departmental approval. The position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.
The salary range for this position is $92,000.00 - $114,900.00 per year.
