Incident Manager - Detection & Response

The Detection & Response (D&R) team at Anthropic plays a critical role in protecting systems, users, and data from security threats. We're looking for an experienced Incident Manager to own and evolve incident management within D&R.

You’ll be the driving force behind maturing and scaling our incident response lifecycle,from detection and triage through containment, remediation, and post-incident review. You'll gather data on incident trends, report on patterns and root causes, and work cross-functionally to ensure broad fixes and systemic improvements are implemented.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end D&R incident management program
• Serve as incident commander for security incidents
• Establish and run incident commander rotations
• Drive post-incident accountability
• Gather, analyze, and report on incident trends and patterns
• Translate trend analysis into actionable cross-functional initiatives
• Lead incident review forums and ensure learnings are captured and acted upon
• Develop and maintain D&R incident response documentation
• Partner with detection engineering to improve alert fidelity
• Define, develop, and track incident management KPIs
• Support broad cross-functional training and initiatives

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in technical program management, incident management, or security operations
• Led or built incident response programs at a technology company
• Demonstrated track record of turning incident data into organizational improvements
• Comfortable participating in on-call responsibilities and leading incident response during high-severity security events
• Experience building and scaling operational processes
• Strong analytical skills and experience with incident trend analysis
• Excellent communication skills

The annual compensation range for this role is $290,000-$365,000 USD.
