Description

We are seeking an experienced Gameplay Software Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. As a Gameplay Software Engineer at EA, you will be responsible for developing software for our critically acclaimed sports games.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, test, and optimize gameplay features and mechanics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, artists, and producers to deliver high-quality gaming experiences
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to gameplay
  • Work closely with the game engine team to improve engine capabilities and performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in software development for games or similar real-time applications
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Java
  • Experience with game engines such as Frostbite or Unreal Engine
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Knowledge of physics engines and simulation
