Description
As a Physics Engineer at Electronic Arts, specifically within the Battlefield Studios at DICE Stockholm, you will work on improving the realism and scalability of physics systems across world-renowned franchises. This 6-month contract role involves collaborating with a talented team to deliver immersive gameplay experiences for millions of players.
Responsibilities:
- Improve physics system scalability to support multiple platforms, including PC, console, and mobile.
- Diagnose CPU bottlenecks and profile memory to ensure physics calculations run smoothly at 60+ FPS for seamless gameplay.
- Tune collision detection, ragdoll physics, and rigid body dynamics so objects and characters behave realistically in games.
- Use profiling tools to analyze and fix physics glitches, collaborating with animators and game designers to enhance gameplay.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing real-time physics systems for games or interactive applications.
- Experience with C++ and physics engines such as Chaos, Havok, PhysX, Bullet, or proprietary solutions.
- Experience diagnosing performance issues and improving physics calculations for games running at 60+ FPS.
- Strong skills in performance and memory profiling and trace analysis using PIX or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Frostbite is a plus.
- Experience shipping games on multiple platforms is a plus.
